Using Search

Use search to find the exact emails you want, faster.

Basic Search

Search terms match anywhere in the email (subject, body, preheader, and other indexed fields). Multiple terms act like an AND search.

Examples

  • crown
  • crown affair

Advanced Search

Advanced Search is available on Pro and Team plans.

Exact phrases

Wrap a phrase in quotes to match the words together, in order.

  • "air dry"

Exclude words

Prefix a term with - to exclude it.

  • candle -pumpkin

OR searches

Use | to match either term.

  • candle | diffuser

Search only the subject line

Use subject: to restrict a term or phrase to the email subject line.

  • subject: garage
  • subject: garage sale
  • subject:"garage sale"

To exclude subject matches, add a leading -:

  • -subject: sale
  • -subject:"garage sale"
  • garage -subject:sale

Tips and limits

  • Blank or empty subject: clauses are ignored.
  • If your query only uses subject:, we'll focus results on emails instead of brands.
  • If Advanced Search isn't enabled on your plan, operators like subject:, -, and | are treated as normal text.
